A little about me: I raised on Long Island in a family social workers and classical musicians. As a teenager I joined the Civil Air Patrol and was involved in a number of search and rescue operations during my high school years and eventually attained the rank of  Cadet Colonel.

After earning a bachelor's degree in Human Services from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia in 1986 I pursued a career as a professional pilot and flight instructor before eventually returning to school to study counseling. I was awarded a Master of Counseling degree from The University of Phoenix in 1996 and became an adult and adolescent therapist - first at Cottonwood Tucson and, since 2013, in my own practice. I am licensed as a Professional Counselor by the State of Arizona Board of Behavioral Examiners.

I live in Tucson with my wife Lynn - a professor of immigration law at The University of Arizona Law School- and my two wonderful daughters - Amanda and Julia. Our main family activities are camping and stargazing.
